Worship

Each Sunday morning we offer two different worship experiences.  Each service is designed to welcome all into the presence of God through proclaiming the Word, open communion, a sermon message and music to suit all tastes.  

Traditional Worship is at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays in the sanctuary.  It is more formal, with pastoral staff and choir wearing robes and First Christian's beautiful pipe organ accompanying many of the hymns and songs. 

Disciple Praise Contemporary Worship is at 11:16 a.m. on Sundays in Disciple House.  It is the more casual of our two morning worship times.  Music selections are often contemporary praise songs played by our Praise Band.

Children and Youth Choirs  

Angel Choir is made up of children, ages 3-5. We rehearse during the Sunday School hour each Sunday. Angels sing for worship services throughout the year.

Genesis Singers is open to children in grades 1-5. They not only sing for worship, but learn musical concepts using a graded curriculum. Genesis Singers also present a spring musical and through their participation in church events, gain experience in worship leadership.



Key Ringers is a chime choir for children in grades 2-5. In the chime choir, children learn the beginning techniques of reading and ringing handbell music. They provide music for worship several times a year. 

Agape Ringers is a handbell choir for youth in grades 6-12. These youth perform musical pieces requiring knowledge of a variety of handbell techniques. Ringing experience is encouraged, but not required. This choir presents music for worship and special concerts.

Adult Music Involvement

Chancel Choir is open to all singers, adult and youth. They provide service music each week for the 9:00 a.m. Traditional Service, and also offer special music presentations throughout the year.

Praise Band is open to instrumentalists and vocalists. They provide music for the 11:16 a.m. Contemporary Praise Service.

Chancel & Morning Bells are adult handbell choirs. They ring in worship services, accompany vocal choirs, and present concerts.

Instrumental Ensembles are open to all youth and adults who play a musical instrument.

Guitar Groups are open to guitarists of all ages and all levels of skill. Please call the Minister of Music for more information.
