Associate Minister for Family Life

Brent is the Associate Pastor for Family Life here at First Christian. This means he spends his time “living life” with the youth, young adults, and their families and programming ministry opportunities that lead to deeper engagement with the way of Jesus. In addition to his work at the church, he also serves as a consultant with Youth Ministry Architects.

Brent has a Masters of Divinity Degree from Brite Divinity School (TCU) and a B.S. in Education from the University of Houston. He has completed a Certificate in Youth and Theology through Princeton Theological Seminary and has nearly completed a Certificate Program in Spiritual Direction. He has served as a local youth minister, a camp and conference director, and a featured speaker and worship leader for Disciples, United Methodist, Episcopal and Presbyterian churches over the past dozen years through This Way Ministries. Brent, his wife, Kori, and their young sons, Caedmon and Kai, enjoy spending days together at the park, the pool, and anywhere that balls can be thrown, caught, hit, dribbled, or kicked. They made their move to Longview in August 2010 from The Woodlands, TX and are already being blessed by the charm and hospitality of deep east Texas.
