Tuesday Night Prayer Group
This group meets every second and fourth Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. They pray for individuals experiencing a crisis in their lives. They offer prayers of thanksgiving for persons experiencing some great joy in their lives, for the life of our church, for the staff of the church, and for other circumstances where prayer is needed. They meet in the homes of various group members. During the course of the evening they enjoy a devotional given by one of the members, refreshments and fellowship together. Any interested person is welcome to become a part of the group.
Tuesday Trippers is a group that comes together to see all of the wonderful offerings in East Texas. The location varies and are short day trips. Come for fun and fellowship! This group meets every third Tuesday of the month!

Yoga classes are offered at First Christian Church by a certified YogaFit instructor. Two class styles are offered: mat yoga and chair yoga.
Mat yoga takes participants through moderately challenging poses that flow from one pose to another. Focus is directed toward breathing and movement while moving slowly through poses to build strength, flexibility, balance, and focusing the mind. This will also reduce the risk of injury by allowing one to be attentive to movement and bringing the body into greater alignment.
Chair yoga is designed especially for seniors. It reduces strain on joints while increasing stability and balance. Participants become more aware of the balance and posture of their bodies. They are able to strengthen abdominal and core muscles, improving blood flow and range of motion.
There are four one-hour classes scheduled each week in Cornerstone Hall:
Mat Yoga meets on Monday and Wednesday from 9:00-10:00
Chair Yoga meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00-10:00
Dress comfortably, bring your mat, and join in a gentle yoga practice that can lead you to better spine health, and if done weekly and consistently, improve mobility, strength and balance.
