Rev. Evan M. Dolive, M. Div., RBCC
Rev. Evan M. Dolive is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and became the Associate Minister of Family Life on August 1, 2015. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2005 and his Master of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary in 2009. Currently he is pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX.
In June 2015, Dolive became a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains. On August 7, 2015, Dolive's first book, Seeking Imperfection: Body Image, Marketing and God, was released by The Pilgrim Press, the publishing house for the United Church of Christ. His book is a theological examination of marketing and body images propagated in the world today and the Christian response.
Dolive has written for many publications including Sojourners Magazine, Dmergent, a Disciples of Christ online publication, the Youth Worker Journal and the Good Men Project. He currently writes for the Longview News Journal. He has also appeared on Headline News, Huffington Post Live, and CNN with Don Lemon.
In 2013, People.com named him one of the "top five coolest dads" on the Internet.
Dolive currently serves on the Youth Leadership Team and Youth Ministry Council for the North East Area of the Southwest Region and the Programming Committee of Disciples Crossing Camp. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Crisman School of Longview and Disciples Housing of Northeast Texas.
Dolive is married to his high school sweetheart and has three children.
