Safe Sanctuaries
On February 26, 2018, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Longview, adopted a new policy focusing on protecting all children and youth. The policy is adapted from a book entitled:
Safe Sanctuaries: Reducing the Risk of Abuse in the Church of Children and Youth.
Below is the policy.
ALL persons who wish to work with children or youth in any capacity MUST complete a background check and undergo training on the policy of FCC. The training is online and there is a quiz to test your knowledge of the material.

As of September 13, 2021, FCC's Safe Sanctuary policy has been updated to state that those who wish to work with the children and youth of the church must renew Safe Sanctuary policy training once every two years. Our training video and quiz were created before this update, so please continue to answer the question on the quiz about the Safe Sanctuary training policy as if the training needs to be renewed once per year.
