First Christian provides many opportunities for children and youth. There is a nursery available for children as well as age-appropriate Sunday School Classes. During worship, children 1st-5th have their own worship time during "children's church." More information can be found on our children's page.

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is the oldest Protestant denomination founded on American soil. It was formed out of the recognition that the Church universal had become too fragmented. The Disciples of Christ believe that everyone has a unique understanding of God and it is through worship and study together in a community that helps all of us grow in the faith. Disciples do not have formal creeds or doctrinal statements, rather the only "requirement" of faith is believing that Jesus is the Lord of the world and the Son of God. We celebrate this unity of Jesus the Christ through holy communion which we partake in every Sunday. The table is open to all who believe in Jesus regardless of church membership or affiliation.
