Applicants for Jr. Counselor at the First Christian Church Mini/Day Camp must meet the following requirements:
Completion of grade 7 or above (grade 6 for Mini Camp counselors)
Ability and enthusiasm for working with children.
Ability to follow rules and expectations and responsibilities
Jr. Counselors are not Campers! The Jr. Counselor is viewed as a vital part of the leadership of the camp program. If selected, you will be expected to be an example of the leadership that our young campers can look up to, respect and admire. In turn, we hope the experience of being a Jr. Counselor will not only provide you with the opportunity to be of service to our church; but will also give you the chance to develop a closer relationship with the children and adults of our church family.
Some of the responsibilities of the Jr. Counselor are as follows:
Attend the Day Camp Rally Day, held on the Sunday before Day Camp begins, to work with the counselors in setting up campsites. THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY FOR ALL JR. COUNSELORS. Please note: If, for any reason, you will be unable to attend the Rally Day meeting, you will need to talk to the camp director before turning in your form.
